Get To Know Our Team

The Business

B&G was formed in 2017 with a desire to provide a professional service with a personal touch. After noticing what traditional providers were lacking in their approach it became our mission to become a one stop shop when it comes to home finance.

At B&G we make you, our clients, the focal point of the business, wanting to take care of you, not just today, but also in the future, making sure that you feel secure on your journey of life.

We are very modern, friendly and flexible in our approach, offering both remote or face to face appointments at our convenient high street location.

We embrace new technology and are dedicated to continuous learning, making sure that we keep abreast of the latest news and trends from the industry so that, you, our clients, can make the best decisions for your personal needs with our support and guidance.

Like all great companies it’s our team that makes us. Without great people there’d be no great businesses.

Bobby-Jean Farnworth

Founder /
Senior Adviser

Hi, I’m Bobby-Jean and I’m hugely passionate about what I do. It’s my mission to make sure that clients aren’t just satisfied but delighted by the service we provide. With over 15 years of customer focused experience, working with a variety of companies from specialist lenders to product providers, I go above and beyond to build and maintain excellent client relationships; treating customers fairly, ensuring consistent communication and the best advice.

In 2017 I took the leap from Business Development Manager at a top product provider, to become the Founder and Director of Black & Gold Financial Services; an advisory company focused on the needs of clients, offering both face to face and telephone consultations.

I’m a massive football fan & lover of travel, combining the two whenever possible. I’m a local girl, born and bred in Leigh, so have extensive knowledge of the area and the regional market. I’m now living in Tyldesley with my wonderful, but crazy husband, and even crazier cats!

Emily Abbott

Marketing & Administration Assistant

Hey there! My name’s Emily and I’m close to completing my 1st year at B&G. I’m lucky, as my role is split between B&G and Smoothmove Property which allows me to develop my knowledge of all aspects of the housing market. I have previously worked for Royal Bank of Scotland in Manchester, as a financial services adviser so have lots of experience in customer service and finance.

My true passion lies within the marketing arm of the business, having gained experience in this whilst working for Bruntwood Commercial Property. Bobby is not only an excellent boss and mentor, passing on her industry expertise, but she’s also supports me in my personal goals. I am currently studying a BA Hons Marketing Degree and in addition to my role, love designing and launching all of B&Gs social media and marketing campaigns.

Like Bobby, I live and was born locally so have excellent knowledge of the surrounding areas, which is vital in this industry. I also enjoy socialising with my close friends and watching my boyfriend play rugby, whilst also fitting in as much travel as I can.
